Function definition: (Copy & paste into FileMaker's Edit Custom Function window)

This function was designed to create a more extended version of a text field by placing spaces between each character in the original field. However, any character or pattern of characters may be specified in the second parameter. It uses recursion to process the original string from right to left, so it will process however many characters from the left that you specify in the mainLength parameter (normally, Length ( mainString )). It does not trap for erroneous input (e.g., mainLength is greater than length of the string).
