Formats an amount. Needs my other custom function formatN

  Sample input:
formatAmount( 12345678.9 ; "," )
  Sample output:
12,345,678.90

  Function definition: (Copy & paste into FileMaker's Edit Custom Function window)

I think the function is very easy to read. Can handle amounts of any length.

There is an error in either this function or fomatN. If I enter formatAmount (123456789; ",") I get the following "?,789.00" returned

Hi David,

The separator in the let had the period and comma in the wrong order. Can you try once more?
By the way, which version of FMP do you use?

Try "0.995".
